Football NSW will host the 2019 FFA National Futsal Championships which will take shape at various venues across Sydney commencing on Wednesday 9th of January and concluding on Sunday 13th of January.

Football NSW will once again assume full control of the prestigious Futsal tournament as Capital Football hosted the Championships in 2018 and will once again host them in the Nation’s Capital in 2020.

After staging successful 2015, 2016 and 2017 tournaments in Sydney, the action-packed week-long event will showcase some of the best talent this country has to offer as well as International teams in what experts have stated is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia.

With the promise of a Grand Final at the breathtaking Sydney Olympic Park at the culmination of the week’s action, expect plenty of fast-paced skills to be on display at all age-groups.

The FFA National Futsal Championship brings together some of the best junior talent in Australia for five days of fast-paced, goal-laden quality futsal that promises to light up the courts of Sydney’s indoor venues and provide the competitors, officials and spectators with memories to last a lifetime.

Venues for the 2019 FFA National Futsal Championships are currently being finalised with information to be provided in due course.

Since the inception of the Championships in 1980, Football NSW CEO Stuart Hodge highlighted the success the FFA National Futsal Championships endured in January this year.

“From all reports the 2015, 2016 and 2017 FFA National Futsal Championships held in Sydney were very well received by all our participants, coaches, spectators and referees which further promoted the sport of Futsal in Australia.

“Our neighbours at Capital Football (Canberra) also did a tremendous job in keeping the high standards of the FFA National Futsal Championships in tact.

“Hosting the event in Sydney once again allows us to showcase our facilities at Valentine Sports Park as the tournament hub and Australia’s home of Futsal.

“To be able to facilitate a prestigious tournament such as the FFA National Futsal Championships where players, coaches, referees and spectators anticipate this as the biggest week for the sport is certainly a massive coup for the organisation.

“Football NSW understands the responsibility of hosting a National Championships and we are committed to working with FFA to grow and develop the event and game of Futsal.”
