U13 Boys – Football Victoria v FNSW Storm

A fine performance by Football Victoria saw them defeat FNSW Storm despite a late flurry from the latter.

It didn’t take long for Football Victoria to hit the front and after a goal mount scramble, the ball somehow trickled over the line.

Three minutes from half time Victoria doubled their advantage, Luke Mensink with a calm finish to make it 2-0.

The Victorian boys were in the mood and were soon running away with the win as Michael Guerra added a third.

Mensink showed his worth mid-way through the second period, beating two thunder players before finding the back of the net with a powerful low drive.

At the other end, Damian Barbanera was at the top of his game, making some crucial saves.

Barbanera was finally beaten when Ben Stander beat him with a shot from distance.

Corey Cronin then had the Victorians worried with another goal for the Storm with only three minutes remaining but it was as close as they’d get.
