The level of officiating, quality of competition, and technological innovations have been the highlight of the tournament, as the 2015 FFA National Futsal Championships moves into its third day.
Tournament Director Phil Brown believes the Championships has got off to a great start, and is full of praise for the referees officiating this week.
“We’d like to acknowledge Football Federation Australia and the futsal referee community to their commitment to the tournament, led by the Head of Delegation Adrian Tamplin.
“This tournament has seen an increase in the number of appointed referees to four for every match, which aligns to the number of referees that officiate at international fixtures.”
Also on Brown’s radar was the on-field ability displayed in the opening days of the tournament.
“The quality of the matches has been outstanding so far, in particular the younger age grades, who have shown exceptional technical ability and competed in the spirit of the game”.
Brown has also been impressed with the implementation this year of software that enables live updates from all futsal games throughout the week, available online.
“In 2015 we have brought in live scoring for every match of the tournament, enabling players and parents who have not been able to travel to Sydney to follow the progress of their team”
The FFA National Futsal Championships is taking place this week, with the Grand Finals on Friday at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre.
