NFC25 Day 3 Wrap

Day 3 of the 2025 National Futsal Championships in Melbourne has come to a close, and the energy is building as we head into the finals! With over 6,000 fans, players, and family members packed into the State Netball and Hockey Centre, the competition was fierce across 50 games on seven courts.

After today’s action, the group stages have now wrapped up across most age categories, and tomorrow marks the first day of finals. Teams have battled their way through to the knockout rounds, and now, the road to the championship begins!

Let's fly around the tournament and shine a light on some of the biggest storylines from Day 3.

Capital Football continued their dominant performance in the U12 Boys division, maintaining an unbeaten record in the group stage with a 5-1 win over Football NSW Thunder. Football West also had a spectacular day, posting a commanding 13-3 victory over Football NSW. Both Gabriele Schmiedgen and Jaksen Brown were unstoppable, scoring hat tricks in the win.

Selena Misfud showcased an extraordinary individual effort for Football NSW Thunder in the U13 Girls, netting six goals in a 10-0 rout over Football Queensland White.

The U13 Boys competition was headlined by a top-of-the-table clash between Football Queensland and their rivals. Football Queensland completed their group stage unbeaten, with Nathan Kirby stealing the show. Kirby scored four goals, including a dramatic last-second winner, to secure a 5-4 victory.

In the U15 Boys category, Football Queensland recorded an incredible 20-goal victory over Football South Australia, highlighted by standout performances from Daniel De Ruysscher, who scored four goals, and Orlando Falcetta, who netted five.

Football Victoria White celebrated their first win of the tournament in the U15 Girls division with a 3-1 triumph over Northern NSW. Meanwhile, Football NSW Thunder topped the group stage undefeated, finishing with an astonishing +31 goal difference.

The U17 Girls age group saw Football NSW assert their dominance, with the Storm, Lightning, and Thunder teams all holding spots in the top four after dominant group stage performances.

In the Youth division, Football NSW Thunder overwhelmed Football NSW Country in a lopsided 18-0 victory. Three players scored four goals each in the commanding performance.

The Open Men’s competition saw Football Queensland and Football Victoria Blue emerge as the teams to beat in Group A. Football Queensland secured a dominant 10-3 win over Football Victoria Navy, while Football Victoria Blue battled to a close 4-3 victory over NSW Lightning. In Group B, Football West continued their unbeaten run with a high-scoring 10-6 win over Capital Football, topping the group with ease.

In the Open Women’s division, Capital Football proved to be the standout team in Group B, with Brittany Palombi leading the scoring charts. Over in Group A, Football Victoria solidified their status, delivering a commanding 5-1 victory over Football Queensland.
