Day 2 of the 2025 National Futsal Championships in Melbourne has come to a close, wrapping up another exciting day of futsal action.
Almost 6,000 fans, players and family members packed into the State Netball and Hockey Centre to watch over 50 games across the seven pitches, and the best players in the country did not disappoint, delivering a thrilling day of matches.
After two days of play, all teams now have a clear picture of what they need to do on Friday to book a place in Saturday's finals, which we will be sure to keep everyone across as the results come in tomorrow.
Let's fly around the tournament and shine a light on some of the biggest storylines from Day 2.

- While it was a true full-team effort that saw the Under 15 Girls Football NSW Thunder side beat their state rivals Football NSW Country 5-0, it was hard not to be impressed by Thunder's Sophia Paz, who was ultra-classy with the ball at her feet, finishing the match with one goal and facilitating even more. Paz has eight goals for the tournament so far.
In one of the biggest upsets of the tournament so far, Football Victoria handed Football Queensland Maroon their first AWD defeat since NFC22, with a comprehensive 5-0 win.
Photo Credit: Luke Hemer - There were no shortage of smiling South Australian's on Pitch 4 this morning, where the Football South Australia Under 12 Boys side notched their first win of the tournament, a comprehensive 7-1 effort over Football Tasmania.
- But there was plenty to cheer about for the Tasmanian Under 12 Boys team as well, when Ryuga Nakamura netted his side's first goal of the tournament in the first half.
- A massive crowd filed into Pitch 6, to watch what was one of the most hotly contested matches of the tournament so far, with the Football Victoria Tigers coming back from 1-0 down to beat the red-hot Football NSW Lightning 3-1 in the Open Mens competition. Scott Rogan's strike with four minutes remaining sealed it for the home side.
- A big shout-out is in order for one of the tournament's leading goalscorers, Mounir Jbeili, who has been on fire to start NFC25. The Capital Football Under 12 Boys gun has nine goals to his name, including four goals in two matches today.
- But he's not the only player knocking on the door of double-digit goals for the tournament. Football Victoria's Walid Ahmedin and Football Queensland's Sam McCosker have both netted nine a piece in the Under 16 Boys competition, while Alesana Dickson also has nine for Football NSW Lightning Under 12 Boys side.
