2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships Day 3 Wrap

Day 3 of the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships delivered fast-paced action, clutch moments and standout performances across the tournament as some sides cemented their status as frontrunners while others recorded their first three points in a memorable day of on-court action featuring 482 goals in 66 games.

Hosts Football Queensland maintained their lead at the top of the national leaderboard after another impressive day of performances, recording a 59% win rate across 29 matches while Football Tasmania teams found their stride, storming to second thanks to a 57% win rate.

Football Queensland White continued to fly high in Pool A of the Under 12 Boys on Day 3, handing Football West and Football NSW Thunder their first losses of the tournament to go five points clear on top of the table thanks to a remarkable six wins in six matches.

Capital Football were the other standout performers of the day, scoring 18 goals and recording two wins from two.

In Pool B, Football Queensland Maroon remain ladder leaders despite having to share the points in a hard-fought 5-5 draw against Football Victoria while Football Tasmania sit in second after securing two wins in two matches against Northern NSW Black and Football Queensland Silver.

Football NSW Lightning meanwhile recorded a third straight win thanks to an 8-3 victory over Football SA Red.

Football Tasmania secured their first win in Pool A of the Under 13 Boys today, defeating Northern NSW in a close 3-2 clash after the undefeated Football Queensland Maroon snatched an important three points from second-placed Football West.

In Pool B meanwhile, Capital Football recorded a third consecutive win to reinforce their place as ladder leaders after three rounds with a strong 11-4 win over Football Victoria, while Football NSW made it two on the trot as they defeated Football Queensland 5-3.

Football Queensland sides continued their fine form in Pool A of the Under 13 Girls as Football Queensland Maroon put nine goals past Football West in a convincing win and Football Queensland Silver edged out Football West and Football NSW Country, bagging two 3-2 results.

Football NSW Country’s Under 13 Girls also recorded their first win of the tournament today with a 4-1 victory over fellow state side Football NSW Storm.

In Pool B, Football NSW Thunder’s impressive winning run continued as they secured two wins in two matches to cement top spot today while Football NSW Lightning and Northern NSW each took home three points after Day 3.

Football Queensland Maroon remain unbeaten on top of the table in Pool A of the Under 14 Boys thanks to an 8-0 win over Northern NSW Today, while Football NSW Thunder came out on top against their fellow state side with a 4-1 win against Football NSW Lightning.

In Pool B meanwhile, Football West extended their perfect record with a third straight win as they defeated Football NSW Country, while Football Queensland Silver secured a 5-3 victory against Capital Football.

Football Queensland’s Under 15 Boys secured a third straight win in Pool A today thanks to a 3-1 victory over Football NSW Country, while Football Victoria claimed the three points in their Round 3 clash against Capital Football.

Football NSW dominated Pool A of the Under 15 Girls today, claiming victory in all four matches as Football NSW Thunder and Football NSW Lightning each secured six points on Day 3 of competition.

Football NSW Thunder remain unbeaten after four matches, while Football NSW Lightning have so far only lost at the hands of their fellow state side in strong signs for the final days of the tournament.

In Pool B, Football Queensland Maroon scored 19 goals as they recorded two wins from two games, while Northern NSW picked up an important three points against Football NSW Country to remain tied on points with Football Queensland Maroon at the top of the table and Football Victoria claimed their second win of the tournament.

Football NSW Lightning and Northern NSW secured Day 3 victories over Football Victoria and Football Queensland Silver respectively in Pool A of the Under 16 Boys.

In Pool B meanwhile, Football NSW Thunder and Football West played out a 0-0 draw while Football Queensland Maroon recorded a 6-3 win over Solomon Islands.

The Under 17 Girls continued to prove one of the most competitive age groups as Football NSW Thunder and Football NSW Lightning claimed three points on Day 3 and Football SA fell to their first defeat of the tournament at the hands of Football Queensland.

Football NSW Thunder maintained their perfect record in the Youth Men as they recorded a fourth straight win today, putting nine goals past fellow state side Football NSW Storm.

Second-placed Football NSW Lightning meanwhile defeated Football Victoria in their Round 4 clash, before Football Queensland claimed three points with an 11-3 win over Football NSW Country.

Youth Women ladder leaders Football NSW Metro extended their winning streak to three matches today thanks to a strong 12-1 win over Football Victoria, while an all-Queensland clash saw Football Queensland Maroon reign supreme over Football Queensland White in a 4-1 result on Day 3 of competition.

Football Victoria cemented their top two hold over the Open Men competition after three matches as Football Victoria Tigers defeated Football Queensland and Football Victoria Blues put four goals past Football NSW Metro in today’s Round 3 clashes.

Football NSW Thunder and Football NSW Lightning remain locked on points at the top of the table in the Open Women thanks to wins today over Capital Football and Football Victoria respectively, while third-placed Football Queensland returned to the winners’ circle as they defeated Football West 6-2.

In the AWD competition, Football Queensland Maroon and Football NSW Thunder remain unbeaten in three matches, today recording wins over Football NSW Lightning and Football Queensland White respectively.

The penultimate day of the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships tomorrow will prove crucial as final rounds of regular competition come to an end and Quarter Finals and Semi Finals kick off, with all eyes on Grand Final qualification for a chance to secure the national title in each age group.
