2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships Day 4 Wrap

The stakes were higher than ever on Day 4 of the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships as Quarter and Semi Finals were played and do-or-die clashes determined who would advance to tomorrow’s Grand Finals for a chance at national glory.

A mammoth 533 goals were scored across 79 matches, with Football West topping the day with a 67% win rate. With Grand Finalists now locked in, attention turns to Finals day tomorrow, where national titles will be decided across each age group and the Member Federation Champions will be crowned.

Pool A sides Football Queensland White and Football West cemented their spots in the Under 12 Boys Grand Final as they finished Day 4 on a high today, recording an 8-1 win over Football Tasmania and a 4-2 win over Football Queensland Maroon respectively in Semi Final clashes.

In the Under 13 Boys, Pool A and Pool B ladder leaders Football Queensland Maroon and Capital Football will meet in the Grand Final after securing victory in two incredibly close Semi Final matches against Football NSW Metro and Football West.

The ladder leaders from each pool will also go head-to-head in a competitive Grand Final in the Under 13 Girls after Football Queensland Maroon defeated Football NSW Lightning 4-0 and Football NSW Thunder secured a 4-0 Semi Final win over Northern NSW.

Queensland’s Day 4 success continued in the Under 14 Boys as Football Queensland Maroon put seven goals past Football NSW Lightning to book their spot in the Grand Final, while in Pool B Football West got the better of Football NSW Thunder in a close 2-1 Semi Final clash.

Football NSW Metro were flying high on Day 4 in the Under 15 Boys, recording a 9-1 Quarter Final win against Football NSW Country and a 6-3 victory over Football Tasmania in the Semi Final to advance to tomorrow’s Grand Final. They’ll meet fellow Pool B side Football West, who booked their ticket thanks to a strong 6-0 win over Capital Football and a crucial victory against the then-undefeated Football Queensland side.

In the Shield Semi Final meanwhile, Capital Football won a tightly-fought encounter with Northern NSW to meet Football Victoria in tomorrow’s Shield Grand Final after the latter put nine goals past Football NSW Country.

Football Queensland Maroon and Football NSW Thunder sealed their place in the Under 15 Girls Grand Final in style as they recorded convincing Quarter Final and Semi Final wins today, scoring a total of 20 goals (Football Queensland Maroon) and 14 goals (Football NSW Thunder) across their two Finals matches and setting up a must-watch Grand Final clash tomorrow.

We’re set for an all-NSW battle in the Under 16 Boys Grand Final as Football NSW Thunder secured a 4-0 Semi Final victory over Football West, while Football NSW Lightning came out on top in a thrilling penalty shootout clash with Football Queensland Maroon that ended 4-2 following a 4-all draw in regular time.

Earlier in the day, Solomon Islands booked their place in the Under 16 Boys Shield Grand Final with a strong 5-1 win over Football Queensland Silver, where they will meet Northern NSW after their 3-0 defeat of Football Victoria.

Day 4 of the Under 17 Girls saw Football NSW Thunder record a fourth win in five matches to cement their spot on top of the table, and their place in the Grand Final against the second-placed Football Queensland who took home a point against Football NSW Lightning in their Round 5 clash.

Football West also claimed their first three points to end their campaign on a high with a 3-0 win against Football Tasmania.

NSW sides continued to dominate on Day 4 of competition in the Youth Men as Football NSW Thunder put 11 goals past Football Victoria in their Round 5 clash before Football NSW Lightning secured a 4-0 win over Football Queensland to set up an intriguing all-NSW Final.

Searching for just their second win of the tournament in the Youth Women, Football Victoria pulled off a crucial 2-0 Semi Final win against second-placed Football Queensland Maroon to send themselves to the Grand Final, while Football NSW Metro’s stunning run of form continued with a strong 6-1 Semi Final victory over Football Queensland White in their fourth win from four matches this week, proving they’ll be tough competition come tomorrow’s Grand Final.

The Open Men brought plenty of excitement on Day 4 as Football Victoria Tigers edged out Football NSW Metro in a thrilling 7-5 Semi Final penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in regular time. They’ll meet Football Queensland in the Grand Final after the host state side turned around recent form to get back in the winners’ circle, producing a vital 5-2 result against Football Victoria Blues.

In the Open Women, NSW sides continued to outperform the rest as Football NSW Thunder and Football NSW Lightning each secured their fifth wins of the tournament thanks to a 5-0 result against Football Victoria and a close 1-0 victory over Football Queensland respectively. They’ll now meet in what is set to be a thrilling Grand Final match that is sure to go down to the wire if results so far are anything to go by.

Football Queensland Maroon and Football NSW Thunder will meet in the AWD Grand Final tomorrow thanks to strong Day 4 performances, as Football Queensland Maroon put six goals past Football Victoria and Football NSW Thunder recorded a 5-2 win against Football Queensland White.

Tomorrow is shaping up to be an unmissable final day of action as the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships showcase the tournament’s most impressive sides, who will vie for national glory and the chance to take home not only an age group trophy, but also the Member Federation Championship.
