2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships Day 2 Wrap

Day 2 of the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships saw the tournament gather momentum at the Gold Coast Sports and Leisure Centre, with teams beginning to separate themselves as the race for Finals qualification intensified across all age groups.

After an action-packed opening day, Day 2 delivered another full schedule of high-quality futsal, with several teams maintaining unbeaten starts, others bouncing back strongly from Day 1 results, and ladder positions beginning to take clearer shape heading into the back half of the pool phase.

434 goals were scored across 66 thrilling matches, as Football Queensland recorded the highest win percentage for the day with an impressive 64% win rate, closely followed by Football NSW who won 57% of their matches.

In the Under 12 Boys, Football Queensland White continued their impressive start to the tournament, recording a 9–5 win over Football SA Blue before backing it up with a commanding victory against Northern NSW Red to remain among the early pace-setters. Football NSW Thunder collected an important win with a 6–4 result over Capital Football, while Football West also impressed with emphatic victories against Capital Football and Football NSW Country. Elsewhere, Queensland Maroon made it 4 from 4 in Pool B, while Football NSW Lightning impressed with back-to-back victories

In Under 13 Boys Pool A, Football Queensland Maroon and Football West both recorded dominant wins to strengthen their positions, while Football NSW Country and Football Victoria shared the points in a match that went down to the wire.

In Pool B, Capital Football responded with a solid win, while Football Queensland Silver and Football NSW Metro played out a competitive draw that keeps the pool wide open heading into day three.

In Under 13 Girls Pool A, Football Queensland Maroon delivered two dominant wins, while Football West edged out Football NSW Storm in a narrow 2-1 victory. Football NSW Country and Football West played out a 2-2 draw in a tightly fought contest.

In Pool B, Football NSW Thunder and Football NSW Lightning both claimed two victories each, while Football Queensland White picked up a crucial win against Northern NSW.

In Under 14 Boys Pool A, Football NSW Lightning, Football Queensland Maroon and Northern NSW all secured important wins, while Football NSW Lightning and Football Queensland Maroon also played out a nail-biting draw to keep the battle for top spot alive.  

In Pool B, Football Victoria produced two strong performances today with back to back wins, while Football West continued to apply pressure near the top of the table with another commanding result against Capital Football.

In Under 15 Boys Pool A, Football Queensland and Football Victoria both enjoyed productive days, collecting wins that place them in a strong position as the tournament progresses.  

In Pool B, Football NSW Metro and Football West battled hard with a hard fought 2-2 draw.

In Under 15 Girls Pool A, Football NSW Lightning and Football Victoria maintained their positive form as both secured narrow 2-1 victories.

In Pool B, Northern NSW Red and Football Queensland Maroon both impressed with commanding performances to set the pace on the ladder.

The Under 16 Boys competition continued to deliver some fascinating games as Northern NSW edged out Football Victoria in a 9-goal thriller in Pool A, while Football NSW Lightning defeated Football Queensland Silver.  

In Pool B, Football Queensland Maroon edged out Football West in a closely contested 3-2 win, while Football NSW Thunder picked up a commanding victory over Solomon Islands.  

In the Under 17 Girls, Football South Australia surged ahead of the chasing pack with a disciplined 2-1 win against Tasmania, elsewhere victories for Football Queensland and Football NSW Lightning sees them keep the pressure at the top of the ladder as Finals looms.  

Football NSW continued their dominance in the Youth Men competition, with Thunder, Lightning and Storm making up the top 3 on the ladder after an impressive day on the court. A 7-3 victory over Queensland saw Football NSW Thunder finish the day in top spot, while elsewhere Football NSW Lightning made light work of Football NSW Country and Football NSW Storm held their nerve to claim an exciting 5-4 win against Football Victoria.  

Football NSW were also impressive in the Youth Women competition with a 5-3 victory over Queensland Maroon putting them in the driving seat heading into the final pool matches, while Football Victoria took advantage of Queensland Maroon’s misfortune to claw back some ground on the top two thanks to a hard fought 3-2 win against Queensland White.

In the Open Men, several tight contests highlighted the quality of Futsal on show, with Football NSW Men making a statement against Football Queensland, and the highly anticipated interstate clash between Football Victoria Tigers and Football Victoria Blues finishing level at 3 goals a-piece.

The Open Women competition continued to excite, with all 6 teams still in the hunt for a finals berth heading into the final day of pool action.

Finally, in the AWD competition, Football Queensland Maroon and Football Victoria played out an exciting match which saw Queensland take home the chocolates, while Football Queensland White kept the pressure on the league leaders with an impressive 6-1 win over Football NSW Lightning.

With most teams now deep into their pool campaigns, Day 3 looms as a crucial turning point, with Finals places, ladder positions and momentum all on the line.

Matches resume tomorrow morning as the battle for knockout qualification intensifies across all divisions at the 2026 Mitre National Futsal Championships.
